The 26th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) is set to make history with unprecedented participation from Chinese companies, marking the largest presence of Chinese firms in the event's history. Over 200 Chinese companies will showcase their cutting-edge technologies across vital sectors including energy, renewable energy, water management, wastewater treatment, and electrical equipment.
The exhibition, organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), will take place from October 1 to 3, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This event is held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The Chinese pavilion at WETEX has consistently drawn significant attention and has become a cornerstone of the exhibition, enhancing its role as a global platform for showcasing the latest innovations in energy, water, sustainability, and smart cities. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, highlighted the growing trust and importance of the exhibition in fostering partnerships and business opportunities.
Economic relations between the UAE and China have been strengthening, as evidenced by the over 14,500 economic licenses held by Chinese businesses in the UAE. China is also the UAE’s third-largest foreign direct investment (FDI) contributor, with an investment value of $6.3 billion. Bilateral investments have surged to a record high of $15 billion in 2022.
MIE Group, which is organizing the Chinese participation, announced that the 200 Chinese exhibitors will occupy a substantial 2,000 square meters, the largest international pavilion from China to date. David Wang, MIE Chairman, expressed enthusiasm about the event, emphasizing its alignment with sustainability and eco-friendly goals and the role it plays in boosting trade relations between China and the Middle East.
Among the prominent participants, YUNDA H&H TECH (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., a leading NSF-certified water filter manufacturer, will be showcasing its advanced water filtration products, which hold a 30% market share in the USA and Europe. The company, known for its adherence to rigorous standards and innovative products, looks forward to engaging with industry leaders and exploring new market opportunities.
Chengdu Meifute Environmental Industry Group Co., Ltd., established in 1999, will also present its pioneering technologies in water pollution control and resource utilization. Recognized as a leading enterprise in the field, Meifute aims to highlight its comprehensive capabilities and achievements in wastewater treatment and environmental sustainability.
Welldone Chemical, a leader in the chemical industry with a strong commitment to safety and sustainability, will be participating as well. The company, which collaborates with top universities and maintains rigorous safety standards, will demonstrate its range of industrial chemicals and its dedication to environmental protection.
WETEX 2024 promises to be a landmark event, reflecting the deepening economic ties between China and the UAE and showcasing the latest advancements in various fields.
