At CES 2025, NVIDIA revealed the exciting GeForce RTX 50 Series, designed for gamers, creators, and developers. These new GPUs are powered by NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture, which promises to deliver faster performance and greater efficiency. Thanks to advanced AI-driven features like neural shaders and DLSS 4, the RTX 50 Series will make gaming, content creation, and development even better.

The RTX 50 Series includes four models: the powerful RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070. The RTX 5090, which is the top model, will be available on January 30 for $1,999. The other models will cost between $999 and $549, with their releases scheduled for February.
The GeForce RTX 5090 is the most powerful of the bunch, featuring 92 billion transistors and an impressive 3,352 trillion AI operations per second. NVIDIA claims that the RTX 5090 doubles the performance of the previous generation’s RTX 4090.
Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA, shared, “Blackwell, the engine of AI, has arrived for PC gamers, developers, and creatives. Blackwell combines AI-driven neural rendering and ray tracing, marking the most important breakthrough in computer graphics since we introduced programmable shading 25 years ago.”
Each of these new GPUs has NVIDIA’s fifth-generation Tensor Cores and fourth-generation RT Cores. These cores unlock powerful features like RTX Neural Shaders and DLSS 4. DLSS 4 is especially cool because it uses AI to generate up to three frames for every frame the computer renders, boosting frame rates by up to eight times compared to traditional rendering.
NVIDIA also announced that the RTX 50 Series will be available for laptops. These new laptop GPUs will give gamers and creators the kind of performance they’re used to from desktop computers but in a portable form. With NVIDIA’s Max-Q technology, these laptops will also get up to 40% longer battery life without sacrificing performance or design. Laptops with the RTX 50 Series GPUs will start rolling out in March.
To make characters and environments in games even more realistic, NVIDIA introduced a new feature called RTX Neural Faces. This uses AI to create high-quality, stable digital faces in real time. They also introduced RTX Mega Geometry, which allows for up to 100 times more ray-traced triangles in a scene, making environments look incredibly detailed.
The RTX 50 Series will also help power more intelligent, autonomous game characters using NVIDIA’s ACE technologies. These characters can think, plan, and act on their own, creating more dynamic and lifelike interactions in games like PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and the upcoming InZOI.
In addition, these GPUs support FP4 precision, which helps with AI image generation and ensures that generative AI models can run smoothly on local hardware. New tools like NVIDIA Broadcast’s Studio Voice and Virtual Key Light will also help creators enhance their work even further.
The GeForce RTX 50 Series is packed with features that will make gaming and creative tasks smoother, more realistic, and faster, and it’s bringing powerful technology to both desktop and laptop users.
