The MPDA (Municipalities and Planning Department Abu Dhabi) has taken decisive action against numerous companies found transporting sand without the required permits. In a recent announcement, MPDA reported the seizure and impoundment of trucks belonging to these companies, highlighting the penalties imposed for violating regulations governing sand transportation.
According to MPDA officials, transporting sand without the necessary permits incurs a minimum fine of 3,000 dirhams per offense. In addition to fines, the trucks involved in these illegal activities were impounded and confiscated as part of stringent enforcement measures.

Emphasizing the seriousness of the offense, MPDA underscored that penalties would escalate for repeated violations, with fines doubling and vehicles facing extended impoundment periods. This crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to uphold regulatory standards and combat unauthorized exploitation of natural resources like sand.
MPDA's RASID Department, responsible for monitoring and enforcement, conducts round-the-clock field campaigns to ensure compliance with regulations. They urge companies and individuals involved in transporting sand to obtain proper approvals and permits, promoting responsible and sustainable use of this vital natural resource.
Furthermore, MPDA aims to foster a culture of environmental stewardship by raising awareness about the ecological impacts of unchecked sand exploitation. They stress the importance of regulated sand transport to preserve natural habitats and ensure long-term environmental sustainability in Abu Dhabi.
