Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross have publicly announced their separation, which took place around a year ago, although they opted to keep it under wraps until now. The couple, who began their relationship in 2014, shared a joint statement to update fans and reiterate their dedication to co-parenting their 8-year-old son, Lars. Even though they have decided to part ways, their primary focus remains on providing a nurturing and loving home for their child.

In their earnest message, the pair expressed, “While it’s difficult to close this chapter of our lives, we are grateful for our beautiful son and remain committed to being the best parents we can be.” This statement showcases the respect and understanding they uphold, despite the end of their romantic ties. They assured fans that making sure Lars feels loved and supported in this new arrangement is their top priority.

Mel Gibson, aged 69, is acclaimed in Hollywood as a prominent actor, director, and producer with a powerful legacy in cinema, credited for masterpieces like Braveheart, which earned him Oscars for Best Director and Best Picture in 1996, as well as The Patriot and Blood Father. He shares a large family with seven children from his marriage to Robyn Moore, lasting from 1980 to their divorce in 2011, along with a 16-year-old daughter from his relationship with songwriter Oksana Grigorieva.

Rosalind Ross, now 35, is accomplished as a film director and has a background in equestrian vaulting. Although Gibson and Ross never married, they enjoyed a strong partnership over the years. As they proceed in separate directions, both remain committed to co-parenting their son and cultivating a positive atmosphere for him. Their continued dedication to Lars is unwavering as they embrace this new phase of their lives.
