Following the first and only vice presidential debate between JD Vance and Tim Walz, Elon Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his strong reaction. In his post, Musk voiced his firm belief that a Trump/Vance victory is essential. He wrote, “Trump/Vance MUST win,” and added, “I can’t handle 4 years of seeing and hearing Kamala/Walz. That would be cruel and unusual punishment!” His comment referred to the current Vice President Kamala Harris, who is the Democratic nominee, and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Elon’s post quickly went viral, sparking heated discussions across social media platforms. Among the many responses it received was a notable one from his mother, Maye Musk. The model and philanthropist re-shared her son’s post, fully agreeing with his sentiments. She commented, “So true,” aligning herself with Elon’s concerns about a Harris/Walz administration.
The post stirred a flurry of reactions in the comments, with people divided on the issue. Supporters of Elon Musk echoed his concerns, worried about the direction of the country under the Democratic leadership. One user wrote, “I don’t understand how so many people in my age group think she is the right choice. This could very easily be the downfall of America. It’s scary!” Another commented, “Ditto. I can’t take 4 years of either one. Our sanity and freedom is at stake!”
However, the post also attracted opposing views, with many defending Harris and Walz. A commenter fired back, “Well, the majority of America disagrees with you both.” Another user, siding with the Democratic ticket, added, “I feel 100% the opposite,” showcasing the polarizing nature of the upcoming election.
The exchange between Elon Musk and his mother quickly became a focal point for broader discussions about the 2024 U.S. presidential election. With emotions running high on both sides of the political spectrum, social media has turned into a battleground for supporters and critics of both tickets, reflecting the deep divisions in public opinion as the election approaches.
As debates continue to unfold online, it remains clear that figures like Elon Musk, with their massive following, are influencing public discourse. His endorsement of Donald Trump and JD Vance has not only drawn attention but also fueled passionate debate, with both sides making their voices heard in the digital arena.
