Mansoor bin Mohammed congratulates American University in Dubai graduates at 27th commencement ceremony.

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, attended the 27th commencement ceremony of the American University in Dubai (AUD) and honored the achievements of the Class of 2024. Sheikh Mansoor conferred degrees upon graduates from the university's six academic schools. The keynote address was delivered by Moaza Saeed Al Marri, Executive Director of the Director General’s Office at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, and an alumna of the university’s Bachelor in Fashion Design & Marketing and Master of Business Administration programs.

This year’s ceremony celebrated 317 graduates and was attended by over 3,000 guests, including the AUD Board of Governors, distinguished guests, faculty, staff, family, and friends. In his welcome address, His Excellency Bou Saab, AUD Executive Vice President, emphasized the role of education in fostering mutual understanding and societal progress. He also paid tribute to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his leadership.

Moaza Saeed Al Marri reflected on her own journey at the university and the significance of receiving AUD’s prestigious His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum scholarship. She highlighted the responsibility of giving back to the community and urged graduates to contribute to Dubai's advancement, stating that the UAE's transformation is a testament to the realization of ambitious dreams.

Thea Bechara, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering major and recipient of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum valedictorian scholarship, delivered the valedictory address. She expressed gratitude on behalf of the graduates and encouraged them to embrace the future with confidence, guided by their values and the lessons learned during their time at AUD. Bechara emphasized the graduates' potential to make a significant impact in the world.

Dr. Lance de Masi, AUD President, concluded the ceremony by commending the graduates as symbols of sustainability for society’s future. He highlighted their ability to adapt to change and their empowerment to merge technology with humanity and imagination to drive innovation for a better world.
