Marmoush's impressive track record speaks for itself, having scored 37 goals and provided 20 assists in 67 matches since joining Frankfurt from VfL Wolfsburg in 2023. This transfer marks Manchester City's third signing of the January transfer window, following the arrivals of center-backs Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis.
Marmoush expressed his enthusiasm about joining Manchester City, stating, "With Pep Guardiola, his technical staff, and the world-class facilities here, players have everything they need to become better. That was really enticing for me when I had the chance to come here."
The Egyptian forward also emphasized his desire to win trophies, acknowledging Manchester City's successful history. "I cannot deny I also want to win trophies. City have been the most successful club in England for many, many years, so I know I am joining a winning environment and winning culture... I want to become a valued member of this winning team."
Marmoush is eager to get started, meet his new teammates, and showcase his skills to Manchester City fans. "I really am looking forward to getting going, meeting the other players, and showing the Manchester City fans what I can do."
This season, Marmoush has scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga, making him the second-highest goalscorer behind Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane. With 35 international caps for Egypt, Marmoush has also had stints at Egyptian side Wadi Degla, as well as loan moves at St Pauli and VfB Stuttgart.
Currently, Manchester City sits fifth in the Premier League table, trailing leaders Liverpool by 12 points, with Liverpool having a game in hand. The addition of Marmoush is expected to bolster Manchester City's attacking lineup as they pursue another Premier League title.
