Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have chosen Ajinkya Rahane as their new captain and Venkatesh Iyer as the vice-captain for IPL 2025. The team made this big decision as they get ready to play in the new season and defend their title.

KKR’s CEO, Venky Mysore, said that Rahane is a very experienced player and a smart leader. He believes Rahane’s calm nature will help the team. He also spoke about Iyer, saying he has been with KKR for a long time and has the qualities of a good leader. Mysore is sure that both players will work well together and guide the team in IPL 2025.
Venkatesh Iyer was bought by KKR in the IPL auction for a big price of Rs 23.75 crore because of his strong performances in past seasons. On the other hand, Rahane, who is known for his steady and intelligent game, was picked up for Rs 1.5 crore.
After being given the captain’s role, Rahane said he feels proud and happy. He called KKR one of the best teams in IPL history. He also said the team has a strong mix of experienced and young players. Rahane is excited to work with everyone and lead the team to defend their title.
