Ben Sulayem Hosts Paraguay President for Luxury Car Drive

Dubai, UAE – February 07, 2026:

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem hosted the President of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, in Dubai and introduced him to his luxury car collection during a special meeting held this week.

President Peña, who was in Dubai to attend the World Governments Summit, visited Ben Sulayem along with Paraguay’s First Lady, Leticia Ocampos. During the visit, the two leaders spent time discussing their shared interest in motorsport and mobility.

Ben Sulayem, a 14-time FIA Middle East Rally Champion, personally took President Peña for a drive in two of his favourite supercars — the Aston Martin Valkyrie and the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport.

Speaking about the meeting, Ben Sulayem said it was a “true honour” to welcome President Peña and the First Lady to the UAE. He added that the visit reflected the strong friendship between both sides and said the future of Paraguayan motorsport and mobility looks promising under President Peña’s leadership.

The FIA President and President Peña have developed a close relationship since meeting during the FIA American Congress held in Asunción in August last year. The Paraguayan President officially opened the three-day event, which brought together motorsport and mobility leaders from across the Americas.

The congress focused on key topics including road safety, sustainable mobility, transport innovation, and regional motorsport growth.

The event also helped strengthen Paraguay’s presence in international rallying, as the country made its debut on the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar. The WRC Rally del Paraguay, held in the Itapúa region, marked a historic milestone for Paraguayan motorsport.

Ben Sulayem attended the rally’s ceremonial opening alongside President Peña and said Paraguay’s inclusion in the WRC, along with Saudi Arabia joining as the final round of the 2025 season, signals an exciting new era for top-level rallying.

The FIA said the American Congress remains an important platform to build cooperation across the Americas and support shared goals of safety, sustainability, and innovation in both motorsport and mobility.
