Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested five men for allegedly raping a woman at a picnic spot in the Kasganj district. The incident happened last week on April 10, when the woman had gone to the Nadrai Aqueduct picnic area near the Hazara Canal with her fiancé.
What Happened in Kasganj?
According to the police, the couple was spending time at the picnic spot when a group of men attacked them. The attackers beat up the woman's fiancé and dragged her into a nearby room built along the canal. The police said the men threatened the fiancé by continuing to beat him outside, while they took turns raping the woman inside the room.

After the incident, the woman returned to her family. When her health worsened, she shared what had happened. Her family then reported the crime to the police helpline. So far, five people have been arrested in connection with the case, and the police are searching for the other accused. Investigations are still going on.
Another Terrible Case in Varanasi
In another serious case, police in Varanasi have arrested twelve men for allegedly gangraping a woman. The woman was reportedly raped by 23 people over several days. The police found her on April 4 in an unconscious state.
ACP Vidush Saxena said that a total of twelve people have been arrested so far and sent to jail. The police are working to find the others involved. The victim and her family are getting help under the Rani Lakshmi Bai Scheme. The officer also said that strong action will be taken against all the accused.
Earlier, on April 9, nine of the accused were already sent to judicial custody by the District and Sessions Court. Three more were arrested later and also sent to jail. A lawyer for one of the accused confirmed that 23 people have been named in the case.
