Cody Rhodes had a chance to use the championship belt against Cena, but he chose not to. However, Cena then hit Cody with a low blow and used the belt to strike him. This was enough for Cena to win and become the champion for the 17th time, setting a new WWE record.
Earlier in the night, Becky Lynch made her return to WWE. She teamed up with Lyra Valkyria to win the Women's Tag Team Championship. Logan Paul also surprised everyone by beating AJ Styles in a one-on-one match. Randy Orton also had a quick win over Joe Hendry during his open challenge.
