The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is proud to mark its 12th straight year of taking part in the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), a major event organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). This continued participation reflects Italy’s strong and growing role in sharing new ideas and smart solutions in energy, water, and sustainability with the UAE and the wider region.
ITA, which helps Italian companies grow in markets around the world, will once again lead a large Italian presence at WETEX 2025, set to take place from September 30 to October 2 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This year, 50 Italian companies will exhibit their products and services over 600 square metres of space. Among them will be not only big firms but also startups and young innovators looking to showcase their skills.
This effort highlights ITA’s mission to connect Italian companies with the Middle East and help them build strong and lasting partnerships. It also supports the UAE’s goal of creating a greener and more sustainable future.

Strong UAE–Italy Ties Fuel Growth
According to HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Chairman of WETEX, the UAE and Italy share deep and strategic ties that have only grown stronger in recent years.
Since the two countries upgraded their partnership to a strategic level in 2023, trade and cooperation have increased. In 2024, non-oil trade between the UAE and Italy reached $14.1 billion, showing a 21% rise from the previous year.
He added that Italian companies have always seen WETEX as a great place to showcase new technologies, make business deals, and find investment opportunities in the UAE and the wider region. The 12-year presence of Italian firms is a strong sign of this ongoing success.
Italy Showcases Smart Green Solutions
HE Lorenzo Fanara, Italy’s Ambassador to the UAE, said that WETEX is the perfect event to highlight Italy’s advanced work in areas like clean energy, water systems, and eco-friendly technologies.
With a dedicated space for 50 exhibitors, he said the Italian pavilion reflects not just Italy’s high level of technical skill, but also the strong friendship between the two nations. He also noted that these events are important for creating new partnerships and helping small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) from Italy grow in the Gulf region.
Turning Ideas into Opportunity
Mr. Valerio Soldani, the Italian Trade Commissioner at ITA’s Dubai Office, called WETEX a key part of Italy’s plan to promote innovation around the world. He said that through this exhibition, Italian companies can meet the right business partners, show how they can help with the clean energy transition, and create long-term success in global markets.
Building Business Bridges in the Middle East
Over the years, WETEX has become a major step forward for Italian companies looking to do business in the Middle East. ITA has helped arrange direct meetings between Italian firms and both private companies (B2B) and government officials (B2G). These meetings have led to valuable partnerships, allowing Italian companies to set up a solid presence in the UAE and across the GCC.
For companies working in solar power, clean water systems, and green tech, WETEX offers far more than just a booth—it provides a chance to be seen, understood, and welcomed by potential buyers and decision-makers.
WETEX 2025: A Platform for the Future
As Italy keeps moving forward in the fields of sustainable innovation and green technology, WETEX 2025 offers a powerful opportunity to share those advancements with the Middle East. ITA encourages all Italian companies to take part, connect with others, and help shape a future based on smart ideas and sustainable growth.
In the words of the organizers and leaders involved, WETEX isn’t just an exhibition—it’s a bridge between innovation and impact, between Italy and the UAE, and between today’s ideas and tomorrow’s solutions.
