Indonesia has expressed strong support for the newly adopted United Nations Security Council resolution endorsing U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the ongoing war in Gaza and establish an international stabilisation force. The move positions Indonesia among the countries urging a coordinated and inclusive global response to halt the violence and rebuild stability in the region.
The U.S.-drafted resolution, passed on Monday, outlines a framework aimed at securing a lasting ceasefire, protecting civilians, and paving the way for an international mission to restore order in Gaza. The plan also seeks to strengthen diplomatic engagement between Israel, Palestine, and the broader international community.
On Tuesday, Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the country’s support for the decision. Foreign ministry spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang stated that Indonesia “welcomed the resolution” and emphasised the critical need for “every party’s involvement in it, especially the Palestinian Authority.” Her remarks highlight Indonesia’s long-standing position that any sustainable peace effort must prioritise Palestinian representation and sovereignty.
Indonesia, one of the most vocal supporters of Palestinian rights in Asia, views the resolution as a potential turning point — but only if all stakeholders participate actively and transparently. Officials say the success of the stabilisation force will depend heavily on international cooperation, humanitarian access, and a commitment from all sides to uphold the ceasefire.
The UNSC’s decision arrives at a moment of heightened global concern, as the conflict in Gaza has caused significant humanitarian suffering and drawn international pressure for an immediate end to hostilities. The new stabilisation force, if deployed effectively, could help restore essential services, assist displaced families, and create conditions for longer-term peace talks.
Analysts note that Indonesia’s reaction underscores its diplomatic stance: supporting global peace initiatives while insisting that Palestinian leadership must be central to any agreement. This approach aligns with Indonesia’s broader foreign policy priorities and its advocacy for human rights, stability, and multilateral cooperation.
As discussions move forward, Jakarta is expected to continue pushing for humanitarian protection, political inclusivity, and accountability — principles it believes are vital for achieving a durable solution in Gaza.
With the world watching closely, the newly adopted resolution marks a significant step toward ending one of the most devastating conflicts of the decade. The coming months will determine whether international coordination and political will can turn the plan into real progress on the ground.
