IBM Launches New Office in Qatar to Strengthen Regional Presence

IBM has opened a new office in Al Mana Tower in the Corniche area of Doha on Sunday. This new office will help IBM expand its work in Qatar and support the country’s efforts to grow and improve technology.

The opening ceremony was attended by many important people, including Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Qatar's Minister of Communications and Information Technology; Timmy Davis, the US Ambassador to Qatar; Shukri Eid, General Manager of IBM for the Gulf, Levant, and Pakistan; and Wissam Shmait, General Manager of IBM in Qatar. Many local business leaders and clients also came to the event.

The new office was opened during the Qatar Global AI Summit. This shows that IBM wants to be part of Qatar’s plans to grow its use of technology. Qatar has a plan called Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on using advanced technology to improve its economy. IBM will help by offering technology services and advice from its new office in Doha.

Sami Mohammed Al Shammari, Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, spoke at the event. He said: “We are happy to see IBM opening its new office in Qatar. This is not just a business move but a partnership. It will help different parts of Qatar use the latest technologies. This will also create opportunities for teamwork between the government and businesses. We will continue to build strong digital systems to support Qatar’s progress.”

Shukri Eid, General Manager of IBM for the Gulf, Levant, and Pakistan, shared his thoughts as well. He said: “The opening of this new office shows IBM’s strong support for Qatar’s goals. We are excited to share our technology and skills to help Qatar grow and achieve its plans.”
