A shocking event unfolded in Bangladesh on Thursday, where a Hindu worker lost his life at the hands of a mob driven by blasphemy accusations. This tragic occurrence took place in the Bhaluka region of Mymensingh district, as reported by local law enforcement.
The deceased, identified as Dipu Chandra Das, was a garment factory employee residing in the Dubalia Para neighborhood. Around 9 PM, an irate group confronted him, claiming he made disrespectful comments about Prophet Muhammad. However, witnesses questioned by police could not definitively clarify when or how these alleged remarks were made.
Police revealed that the mob brutally assaulted him, eventually tying his body to a tree and setting it ablaze. This incident occurred along the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, leading to significant traffic disruptions as a crowd gathered.
A video purportedly capturing the event surfaced on social media, featuring onlookers recording the disturbing scene. Authorities have yet to authenticate this footage. After being informed of the attack, police arrived promptly to restore order.
The remains were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. No formal charges have been filed thus far, and law enforcement is attempting to locate the victim's family. Officials announced that legal proceedings will commence once a formal case is established.
