His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, recently met with a group of Emirati educators from Dubai’s private education sector, as well as retired Emirati teachers. The meeting took place at the Etihad Museum on Emirati Day for Education, a day that highlights the importance of education in the UAE.

Also present at the event were His Excellency Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, the Secretary General of the Executive Council of Dubai, and Her Excellency Aisha Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan praised the efforts of Emirati educators and their important role in the UAE’s education system. He highlighted how, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, the country has become a global leader in education. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the UAE is focusing on human development to drive progress in the country. The education sector has received significant support, and teachers have been recognized as the foundation of learning and development.

Sheikh Hamdan expressed his appreciation for teachers’ dedication and the important role they play in instilling a love for the country and the values of the UAE in the younger generations. He also praised retired teachers for their years of hard work and commitment to shaping the future of the UAE by developing leaders in various sectors.

“Our goal is to empower Emirati teachers, as they are the backbone of our education system. We trust them to carry out this responsibility. We support every Emirati teacher who is committed to guiding young minds and nurturing a generation that reflects the values and dreams of our country,” said Sheikh Hamdan.

He also shared his vision for the future of education, focusing on the changes needed to help Dubai achieve its development goals. He encouraged Emirati educators to take an active role in creating a strong and inclusive education system, in line with Dubai’s Education 33 strategy.

In a bid to further support Emirati teachers, Sheikh Hamdan announced the launch of a new initiative called “Inspiration Talks.” This platform will offer a space for discussions and collaboration among educators in Dubai, especially those in the private education sector. Led by the KHDA, the initiative will help Emirati teachers develop their skills and increase their involvement in shaping the future of education in the UAE. The platform will support the professional growth of teachers and encourage more Emiratis to take leadership roles in the education sector.

As part of the “Inspiration Talks” initiative, the KHDA will work closely with private schools and early childhood centers to create a training program designed to help Emirati teachers grow in their careers. The program will also include a mentorship system, where younger teachers can receive guidance from retired educators, who will offer professional advice and support to help them advance in their careers.

The educators at the event expressed their gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan for his continuous support of the teaching profession and for his efforts to improve the education system. They promised to continue working hard to shape the future of the UAE by guiding and inspiring the next generation of Emiratis to contribute to the country’s progress and success.

The event was a clear reminder of how important education is to the future of the UAE and how much the leadership values the role of teachers in building the nation’s future.
