Alphabet has once again proven the power of artificial intelligence in shaping its success story. The Google parent posted standout financial results this quarter, powered by surging demand for AI-driven cloud services and a robust rebound in its core advertising business.
The company reported total revenue of $102.35 billion, surpassing analyst expectations of $99.89 billion. Profits were equally strong, with adjusted earnings of $3.10 per share, well above estimates of $2.26. The upbeat results sent Alphabet shares climbing 6% in extended trading.
A major highlight of the quarter came from Google Cloud, which continued its rapid rise with 34% revenue growth, reaching $15.16 billion. The division is fast closing the gap with competitors like Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, fueled by enterprise demand for AI-powered infrastructure, data analytics, and custom-built Tensor Processing Units (TPUs).
Alphabet’s confidence in AI’s long-term potential is reflected in its escalating investments. The company raised its projected capital expenditure for the year to $91–93 billion, up from the $85 billion target set in July. Last year, Alphabet spent $52.5 billion—marking a dramatic acceleration in AI infrastructure development.
Meanwhile, Google’s advertising business—still the company’s largest revenue driver—grew 12.6% to $74.18 billion, defying concerns of an ad slowdown amid global economic uncertainty. The continued strength of Google Search reassured investors that AI innovations like “AI Overviews” and “AI Mode” are enhancing, not undermining, user engagement.
Despite growing competition from rivals such as Microsoft, OpenAI, and emerging AI startups, Google’s market position remains resilient. Its search engine dominance and expanding AI ecosystem continue to attract advertisers and enterprise clients alike.
As the company adds over 8,000 new employees in a year when other tech giants are tightening operations, Alphabet’s message is clear—it’s betting big on the future of AI and the infrastructure that powers it.
