Dubai, UAE – 20 October 2025: Waterfront Market, Dubai’s premier food destination and home to over 800 traders, has solidified its status as the city’s largest and most dynamic food hub. With daily trade exceeding 800 tonnes, the Market plays a pivotal role in Dubai’s food ecosystem, supporting both wholesale operations and community access to fresh produce.

“Waterfront Market has become a vital force in Dubai’s food trade, uniting local fishermen, international suppliers, and traders daily. Our record volumes reflect the confidence our traders place in our infrastructure, which continues to expand in line with the city’s growth. We are proud to contribute directly to the National Food Security Strategy 2051 by ensuring consistent access to fresh, high-quality food,” said Mohammad Al-Madani, Waterfront Market Manager.

Seafood remains at the heart of the Market’s operations. Over 600 tonnes of seafood are traded daily, sourced from both local waters and international suppliers. More than 500 seafood traders offer over 260 varieties, including popular staples like Hamour and King Fish, alongside specialty catches such as Seabream and Emperor Fish. Additionally, over 50 dried fish varieties are available, with roughly 70% sourced from UAE waters and the remainder imported globally. The daily live seafood auction continues to attract traders nationwide, positioning the Market as one of the region’s busiest seafood trading platforms.

Beyond seafood, the Market hosts over 300 traders across fruits and vegetables, meat and poultry, and dry goods and spices. The Fruits and Vegetables Market features produce from more than 80 local farms, supplemented by imports from around the globe, offering over 160 varieties. Meat and Poultry traders supply premium cuts, quail eggs, and rare offerings such as ostrich eggs. The Dry Goods and Spices section features over 250 varieties, including dates, nuts, grains, and spices, serving Dubai’s multicultural population of over 180 nationalities.

In response to rising demand, Waterfront Market has recently expanded its offerings with a dedicated cheese and dairy section and specialty coffee roasteries. Complementing these additions are the Market-to-Table experience—where customers select fresh seafood for in-market dining—daily live auctions, and specialized seafood cleaning facilities, enhancing convenience and customer experience.

With these initiatives, Waterfront Market continues to strengthen its position as the cornerstone of Dubai’s food economy, delivering unmatched variety, quality, and accessibility to residents, businesses, and the hospitality sector alike.
