Shou Zi Chew, the CEO of TikTok, shared his excitement about visiting Dubai and interacting with content creators, whose vibrancy and creativity he found inspiring. During the discussion, Chew outlined TikTok's three foundational pillars: discovery, creativity, and community engagement. He explained how the platform is designed to connect users with content that resonates with their interests while empowering creators with a comprehensive suite of tools. Chew highlighted the array of effects and advanced capabilities in AI and generative technology that TikTok offers, allowing creators to bring their innovative ideas to life through visual storytelling.
He underscored the powerful role of communities within TikTok, noting that the platform's mission is to “inspire creativity and bring joy.” Chew stated that the top ten videos on TikTok each year reflect a theme of joy, showcasing the positivity and creativity shared by its users.
Quality content was another focal point of his remarks. “High-quality videos are crucial for engaging viewers,” he asserted. “We strive to cultivate a diverse platform that caters to all interests, providing the necessary tools to create a joyful and creative experience for every user.”
In a candid exchange with content creators, Chew solicited feedback and addressed their inquiries about strategies to enhance their content and reach wider audiences. Participants expressed how TikTok has transformed their lives, enabling them to grow their businesses and connect with larger audiences. They voiced appreciation for the chance to engage directly with the CEO of such a significant social media platform, noting that DPC-organized events provide critical insights and foster a collaborative atmosphere that encourages content creators to innovate and excel in their work.
