Dubai Ports Authority Joins Global Maritime Association

Dubai Ports Authority (DPA) at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation has officially become a regular member of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH). This move highlights Dubai’s aim to strengthen its global presence in the maritime sector and support sustainable, efficient, and resilient port operations.

Through this membership, DPA will collaborate with port communities in over 90 countries, sharing knowledge and best practices. The Authority will actively engage in IAPH initiatives focused on emissions reduction, energy transition, digital solutions, maritime supply chain data coordination, risk management, emergency preparedness, and operational resilience.

Captain Ibrahim Al Blooshi, Executive Director of Dubai Ports Authority, said the step aligns with Dubai’s goal to integrate further into the global maritime ecosystem and expand international partnerships that boost sustainability and supply chain efficiency.

“Joining IAPH is a milestone in strengthening global maritime ties, exchanging best practices, and advancing our priorities in safety, digital transformation, and sustainability. It also allows us to contribute to international port standards,” he added.

The membership opens new opportunities for strategic partnerships and projects, helping Dubai Ports adopt smart technologies, enhance port readiness, and provide faster, more reliable services.

DPA manages three major ports in Dubai — Jebel Ali Port, Al Hamriya Port, and Mina Rashid — along with Dubai Drydocks and Dubai Maritime City. The Authority continues to improve these ports through infrastructure development, operational regulation, inspections, and service modernization, following global best practices.

This move is part of Dubai’s broader vision to make its ports global leaders in trade, competitiveness, sustainability, and innovation through strategic international collaborations.
