Dubai Municipality will begin the third season of the Ramadan Souq tomorrow, Saturday, 25 January 2025, at the Old Municipality Street Square in the Grand Souq, Deira. This market will run until 22 February and aims to keep alive the traditional customs and culture linked to Ramadan. It also seeks to highlight the historic charm of traditional markets in Dubai, making them a favorite spot for tourists, while supporting small businesses by offering them a space to sell and promote their goods.
The souq will host a mix of recreational, tourism, and business activities designed for everyone, including local residents, tourists, families, and visitors. From young people to culture lovers, everyone can look forward to an exciting shopping experience with affordable prices.
A small traditional market will be set up next to the historic Deira Souq. This special market will feature stalls run by experienced shopkeepers selling Ramadan essentials and items for the ‘Haq Al Laila’ celebration. Visitors will also find displays of food, personal goods, and other items. The event will include live shows, creative workshops, and fun activities for children. The souq will welcome visitors daily from 10 am to 10 pm.

Asem Al Qassim, Director of the Architectural Heritage and Antiquities Department at Dubai Municipality, shared his thoughts on the event. He said, “The Ramadan Souq is an important traditional event that celebrates the holy month of Ramadan in Dubai. It helps remind us of the heritage of traditional markets, which reflect the rich history of the city.”
He further added, “By hosting the souq in the Grand Souq area of Deira, one of Dubai’s oldest markets, we emphasize its long-standing importance as a place to shop for personal and household needs. This area is also a key tourist attraction that shows the cultural beauty of Dubai. Our goal is to keep making Dubai a city where people love to live, visit, and explore.”
Dubai Municipality organizes the Ramadan Souq as part of its efforts to promote tourism, fun activities, and commercial growth in the city. The event also aims to encourage more investments and attract people to public spaces and entertainment hubs in Dubai.
