The Dubai Media Council’s Media Leadership Programme recently wrapped up a week-long visit to the United Kingdom. This special tour helped 25 young professionals from different government departments in Dubai learn from top media and communication experts around the world.
The visit was part of the Media Leadership Programme, an initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The programme’s main goal is to prepare a new generation of media leaders who can support Dubai’s growth by telling powerful stories about the city’s achievements and progress.
Learning from the Best
During the five-day visit, participants met with well-known media organisations, government communication teams, research think tanks, and tech leaders. They discussed many important topics such as building public trust in the media, the future role of artificial intelligence, digital changes, and how to create a strong national identity through media.
Some of the key stops included:
The group also had the chance to speak with former UK government communication experts who shared how to craft messages for both local and international audiences.

About the Media Leadership Programme
The Media Leadership Programme started in January this year and is a key part of Dubai’s plan to build skilled media professionals. It offers real-world experiences, training from global experts, and opportunities to learn how the media world is changing. The goal is to help these future leaders explain Dubai’s success in clear, creative, and meaningful ways.
Through this programme, Dubai aims to raise its media standards, connect with global partners, and support young professionals in becoming leaders who can share Dubai’s story with confidence.
