DUBLIN: Dubai Chambers has intensified efforts to expand its global economic footprint by leading a high-level trade mission to Ireland aimed at unlocking fresh opportunities for bilateral trade and investment. The initiative reflects Dubai’s growing drive to connect with dynamic markets and strengthen its role as a gateway for international business.
The official mission to Dublin was spearheaded by H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, accompanied by H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and a delegation of senior business leaders from Dubai. The visit formed part of the chamber’s ‘Growth Corridors’ initiative, which focuses on enhancing trade ties with key global economies.

Meetings with Public and Private Sector Leaders
During the mission, the Dubai delegation held a series of discussions with leading Irish institutions, including Enterprise Ireland, the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, the Irish Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF), and the Ireland Foreign Direct Investment Agency (IDA).
The meetings highlighted opportunities to deepen collaboration across sectors such as investment, financial services, logistics, digital industries, and innovation. Both sides explored ways to support businesses in establishing joint ventures, fostering cross-border projects, and enhancing market access.
Learning from Ireland’s Innovation Hubs
The delegation also visited some of Ireland’s most prominent innovation and entrepreneurship centres, including:
Dogpatch Labs – home to over 250 startups and operator of Ireland’s National Accelerator.
Guinness Enterprise Center (GEC) – a not-for-profit hub supporting more than 120 emerging businesses.
NovaUCD – the innovation hub of University College Dublin, which has supported more than 550 early-stage ventures.
These visits provided the delegation with key insights into Ireland’s thriving startup ecosystem and opened doors for potential partnerships with Dubai’s fast-growing entrepreneurial and digital sectors.
Rising Trade and Expanding Presence
The mission underscored the strong and growing trade relationship between Dubai and Ireland. Non-oil trade between the two markets reached AED 4.1 billion in 2024, marking a 20% year-on-year increase.
In the first half of 2025 alone, 62 new Irish companies joined the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, bringing the total number of active Irish member companies to 460. This upward trend reflects the growing confidence of Irish businesses in Dubai as a strategic base for expanding into regional and global markets.
Unlocking Mutual Opportunities
The visit not only highlighted Dubai’s appeal as a hub for future-focused sectors such as venture capital, fintech, and logistics but also showcased Ireland as a valuable partner in innovation and research-driven industries. Both sides expressed interest in strengthening cooperation to create new growth corridors that benefit their respective business communities.
By reinforcing connections between Dubai’s vibrant economic ecosystem and Ireland’s innovation-driven enterprises, the trade mission laid the groundwork for deeper collaboration and sustainable growth in the years ahead.
