The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, has reported remarkable achievements in supporting digital startups in the first half of 2025. During this period, the chamber successfully assisted 308 high-potential digital startups in establishing and growing their businesses in Dubai. This represents a 39% year-over-year (YoY) growth, a significant increase compared to the 221 companies supported during the same period in 2024.

This impressive growth highlights Dubai's position as a leading hub for innovation, technology, and digital business in the region and worldwide. Commitment to Building a Digital Business Environment

His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, emphasized the importance of creating a strong foundation for digital businesses in Dubai. He stated: “We are committed to developing an integrated digital business environment that provides the foundations for success for talents and digital companies, and supports their expansion from Dubai to global markets. We continue our efforts to enhance Dubai’s attractiveness as a global hub for digital companies, entrepreneurs, and technology investors by strengthening the digital infrastructure, enhancing the legislative and regulatory environment, and creating an ecosystem that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship.”

His Excellency highlighted that Dubai’s focus is not only on attracting digital businesses but also on empowering the next generation of technology leaders. By strategically fostering a world-class ecosystem, Dubai aims to provide impactful pathways for companies to innovate, grow, and expand globally.

The results from the first half of 2025 show that Dubai is making significant progress in accelerating its digital transformation journey, creating opportunities for startups and technology innovators from across the world.

Driving Startup Growth Through Events and Roadshows

Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, discussed the various initiatives undertaken to support startups in Dubai. He said: “In line with our commitment to supporting the growth of tech companies in Dubai, 10 events were organised during the first half of this year to enhance partnerships and support the digital economy sectors. We also organized 15 international roadshows to showcase Dubai’s advanced digital business ecosystem and promote the upcoming edition of Expand North Star, the world’s largest event for startups and investors.”

These events and roadshows have become key tools for connecting startups with global investors, partners, and innovators. The aim is to help companies understand Dubai’s business environment and its advantages, while also showcasing innovative ideas and solutions from emerging tech companies.

Expand North Star 2025: A Global Platform for Startups

The Expand North Star 2025 event, organized in October 2025 by Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, will bring together some of the world’s leading startups, innovators, investors, entrepreneurs, and digital leaders.

The event is expected to highlight unique growth opportunities offered by Dubai and help shape the future of the digital economy. Startups attending the event will have the opportunity to present their ideas, meet potential investors, and explore ways to expand their businesses internationally.

Roadshows Highlight Dubai’s Advantages

As part of the chamber’s international outreach, 15 roadshows were conducted in different countries. These roadshows included presentations about Dubai’s competitive advantages, such as a supportive regulatory environment, advanced digital infrastructure, and a growing ecosystem for innovation.

Startups participating in these roadshows were able to showcase their ideas through pitch competitions. Winners in each city were awarded fully sponsored opportunities to attend Expand North Star 2025, giving them a chance to gain global recognition and access new markets.

In addition to the main pitch competitions, further contests were held for startups to qualify for the Supernova Challenge, the region’s largest startup pitch competition. The final stage of this challenge will take place during Expand North Star 2025, providing an international platform for innovative startups to gain exposure and funding.

Strategic Efforts to Strengthen Dubai’s Digital Ecosystem

Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is focused on building a strong and integrated ecosystem for digital businesses. This involves:

  • Enhancing digital infrastructure: Ensuring startups have access to advanced technologies and connectivity to support growth.

  • Improving regulatory frameworks: Creating a clear, flexible, and supportive environment for digital companies.

  • Fostering innovation: Encouraging startups to develop new technologies and solutions.

  • Connecting entrepreneurs with investors: Providing platforms such as events and roadshows to help startups gain funding.

These strategic efforts aim to ensure that Dubai continues to attract global talent, innovative companies, and technology investors, positioning the city as a leading global hub for the digital economy.

Looking Ahead

The first half of 2025 has shown significant momentum in Dubai’s digital economy, with the chamber supporting over 300 startups. The upcoming Expand North Star 2025 promises to further strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a global destination for digital businesses.

Dubai’s commitment to innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship ensures that the city remains at the forefront of digital transformation, providing startups with the necessary support to grow locally and expand globally.

With these initiatives, Dubai is not just attracting startups but also empowering the next generation of tech leaders, ensuring a sustainable and innovative digital economy for years to come.
