Dubai, UAE – DMCC, the leading global free zone and the Government of Dubai’s Authority for commodities trade and enterprise, has successfully wrapped up its second Made for Trade Live roadshow in the United States this year. The roadshow, aimed at expanding trade and investment between the UAE and the U.S., visited San Francisco, California, and Denver, Colorado.
The roadshow was part of DMCC’s efforts to promote Dubai as a premier business hub and to showcase the emirate’s business-friendly environment, top-notch infrastructure, and numerous opportunities for American enterprises. As the UAE continues to maintain its position as the leading destination for U.S. foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Middle East, DMCC briefed American executives on the advantages of establishing a presence in Dubai.
Currently, nearly 700 U.S. companies are based in DMCC, which constitutes over 45% of the approximately 1,500 American businesses operating in the UAE. The bilateral non-oil trade between the UAE and the U.S. reached a record high of USD 31.4 billion in 2023, reflecting the growing economic ties and significant opportunities for U.S. businesses to expand their regional operations from Dubai.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, commented on the success of the roadshows: “Dubai has been a preferred hub for American companies in the region for many years. The record levels of trade and investment we witnessed last year are a testament to Dubai’s attractiveness as a business destination. With nearly 700 U.S. companies in our district, we represent almost half of the American business presence in the UAE. We aim to build on this position by expanding our business ecosystems and exploring opportunities in sectors such as technology, artificial intelligence, and energy.”
The events were organized in collaboration with key partners including Airtifae, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, the Bay Area Council, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade, the World Trade Centre Denver, and the Denver Mile High City.
DMCC’s Made for Trade Live roadshows are pivotal in highlighting Dubai’s unique value proposition as a business destination. Through these events, DMCC effectively attracts substantial FDI to the emirate. Notably, DMCC contributes 15% to Dubai’s annual FDI inflows and is home to over 24,000 businesses from around the globe, underlining its role as a central player in Dubai’s economic landscape.
