DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre), one of the most popular business areas in Dubai, has just launched two new licenses: the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and Holding Company licenses. These new options will give businesses more choices for setting up and managing their operations in Dubai.
These new licenses make it easier for companies to manage investments, hold assets, and oversee business activities in different regions. One of the best parts is that businesses won't need to rent a physical office, which helps them save money and reduce the complexity of setting up their business.
DMCC’s aim with these new licenses is to provide businesses with more flexibility and lower costs. The SPV license is especially useful for businesses or investors who need a simple way to manage investments or handle assets like property, without having to run an actual operational business. This option is perfect for asset holding, securitisation (transforming assets into investments), and structured finance transactions.

On the other hand, the Holding Company license is for businesses that want to manage different subsidiaries (companies they own) and investments under one umbrella. This is great for big companies, multinational firms, family offices (businesses owned by a family), and investment groups that want to consolidate ownership and manage everything from one place. It’s also helpful for saving on taxes and improving the way decisions are made in the company.
Ahmed Hamza, the Executive Director of DMCC, said: “At DMCC, we are always looking for ways to help businesses grow. With the new SPV and Holding Company licenses, we’re giving companies the chance to easily manage their investments and protect their assets. These solutions are perfect for multinational companies and investment groups who want to work more efficiently and expand in the UAE. This move is another step in ensuring that DMCC stays the top choice for businesses looking to grow in a safe and competitive environment.”
The best part about these licenses is that businesses don’t need to worry about renting office space or dealing with complicated operational tasks. This makes it simpler and more affordable for companies to set up their business in Dubai.
Along with these new licenses, DMCC continues to offer tax benefits. Although there is a corporate tax law in the UAE that applies to businesses, DMCC members who meet certain conditions can still enjoy a 0% corporate tax rate, which helps businesses save money.
DMCC’s goal is to keep attracting businesses from around the world by providing them with a smooth and innovative environment to grow and succeed. DMCC currently has over 25,000 companies from different industries, making it one of the most successful and popular business districts in the UAE.
In short, these new licenses from DMCC offer businesses more freedom and fewer barriers to growth, making it easier for companies to manage their operations in one of the world’s most exciting business hubs.
