Dubai, UAE, 12 May 2025: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2025, achieving a record high in revenue and cash flow. The company’s total revenue for the quarter reached AED 5.96 billion, an increase of 2.83% compared to the same period in 2024. DEWA also reported a record net cash flow from operations of AED 3.85 billion, marking a significant 17.86% growth from the previous year.
DEWA is the exclusive provider of electricity and water services in Dubai, and it is listed on the Dubai Financial Market. It has maintained a strong financial position with a healthy operating profit of AED 838 million and EBITDA of AED 2.43 billion. The company ended the quarter with AED 8.17 billion in cash and cash equivalents, an increase of AED 2.07 billion compared to the end of 2024.

Infrastructure Investments and Future Plans:
During this quarter, DEWA invested AED 2.26 billion in infrastructure, focused on energy transition efforts. Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its installed generation capacity to 22 GW by 2030, with 7.5 GW (34%) coming from clean energy sources, up from the initial target of 25%.

DEWA is also working on increasing its desalination capacity, with plans to add 240 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) of seawater desalination capacity using reverse osmosis technology. By 2030, the total installed desalination capacity will reach 735 MIGD.

He expressed confidence that DEWA will continue to exceed historical performance and deliver long-term value for its shareholders.
Al Tayer also highlighted the company’s dedication to the vision of the UAE leadership, including His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. He mentioned that DEWA’s growth in demand for electricity, water, and cooling services reflects the continued progress of Dubai and its growing infrastructure needs.
