In a chilling revelation from Delhi, police have uncovered the brutal murder of a 32-year-old UPSC aspirant whose charred body was found in his Timarpur flat on October 6. What first appeared to be an accidental fire turned out to be a cold-blooded murder plotted by the victim’s live-in partner, her ex-boyfriend, and a mutual friend — all driven by betrayal, revenge, and digital blackmail.

The deceased, Ram Kesh Meena, was preparing for the civil services exams and lived in Gandhi Vihar, Timarpur. His dreams of becoming a government officer were brutally cut short when his girlfriend, 21-year-old Amrita Chauhan, allegedly conspired with her ex-boyfriend, Sumit Kashyap, to eliminate him. The motive — Ram Kesh had refused to delete private videos of Amrita stored on a hard disk, even after repeated requests.

According to police reports, Amrita was furious after discovering that Ram Kesh had secretly recorded her private moments. When he ignored her pleas to erase them, she reached out to Sumit — her ex-boyfriend, who was enraged and eager for revenge. Together, they planned the perfect murder that would look like an accidental fire. They even enlisted a third conspirator, Sandeep Kumar, a mutual friend who helped execute the plan.

Police investigations revealed that on the night of October 5, the accused went to the victim’s flat. Ram Kesh was beaten and choked to death before the group poured ghee, oil, and wine on his body to create a fire strong enough to destroy all evidence. Sumit, who worked in a gas distribution company, used his technical knowledge to position an LPG cylinder near the victim’s head and left the gas running. After stealing his laptops, hard disk, and belongings, they set the room ablaze using a lighter and locked the door before leaving.

An hour later, a massive explosion tore through the building, reducing the room — and the victim — to ashes. Yet, the killers overlooked one key detail — the CCTV cameras. Police scanning the footage spotted two masked men and a woman entering the flat just before the fire. Later, Amrita was identified, and phone tracking placed her at the scene during the crime.

Following multiple raids, Amrita was arrested on October 18, followed by Sumit on October 21 and Sandeep on October 23. During interrogation, Amrita confessed to the murder and revealed the horrifying details. She reportedly told police she was studying forensic science and used her knowledge — along with inspiration from crime web series — to design the plan.

The Delhi Police have now recovered the stolen hard disk and other electronic items from the accused. Investigators described the murder as one of the most “methodically planned yet emotionally charged” crimes they’ve seen in recent times.

This tragic case has shocked Delhi — not only for its brutality but for how a young woman studying crime science turned it into reality, killing her partner over fear and revenge.

As investigations continue, police are probing whether any more people were aware of the conspiracy. The Timarpur UPSC aspirant murder case has reignited conversations on digital privacy, toxic relationships, and the dark influence of crime dramas on impressionable minds.
