The Anaheim Ducks extended their impressive run on Sunday night, claiming a 4-1 victory over the visiting Winnipeg Jets. The win marked Anaheim’s seventh straight triumph and pushed their home record to an impressive 5-1-0 this season. With strong teamwork, sharp shooting, and solid goaltending, the Ducks once again proved they are one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now.
Rising star Leo Carlsson was the standout performer, scoring two goals to extend his point streak to 10 consecutive games. The young forward continues to impress with his scoring touch and creativity on the ice. Carlsson now has 25 points this season, including 10 goals and 15 assists, putting him second in the NHL scoring race behind Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon, who leads with 29 points. His growing confidence is making him one of Anaheim’s most reliable offensive weapons.
Another exciting highlight came from rookie Beckett Sennecke, who also scored two goals in the game. His first came early in the opening period when he took a clever backward pass from Cutter Gauthier near the Jets’ goal and fired a quick shot into the net. His second goal came midway through the second period after he reached around a defender to score on a loose puck. This marked Sennecke’s first multi-goal game in his young career, achieved in just his 15th NHL appearance.
Chris Kreider and Cutter Gauthier played vital roles in Anaheim’s win, each contributing two assists. Their combination play helped set up both Carlsson and Sennecke’s goals at key moments in the game. The duo’s chemistry and vision on the ice allowed the Ducks’ forwards to maintain constant pressure on Winnipeg’s defense. Their smart passing and unselfish play were key reasons for Anaheim’s attacking success.
Goaltender Lukas Dostal continued his strong form between the pipes, making 23 saves to secure the victory. His calm performance ensured that the Ducks maintained control even when Winnipeg tried to mount pressure in the second period. Dostal’s solid reflexes and positioning have made him a dependable presence for Anaheim, especially during their ongoing winning streak. His ability to stay composed under pressure helped seal another confident win for the team.
The Winnipeg Jets, on the other hand, faced more frustration as their struggles on the road continued. The loss marked their third straight defeat on a six-game road trip. The team, which started the trip with strong momentum after a 9-3-0 record, has now been outscored 9-2 in their last three games. Kyle Connor scored the lone goal for the Jets, his ninth of the season, and also celebrated his 600th career point — a personal milestone amid a disappointing result.
Anaheim started fast and never looked back. Sennecke’s early goal at 7:18 of the first period gave the Ducks the lead, followed by Carlsson’s power-play goal just before the end of the period, making it 2-0. In the second period, Connor gave Winnipeg hope by scoring through traffic at 4:22, but Sennecke’s second goal restored Anaheim’s two-goal advantage. Carlsson sealed the win with his second goal at 2:47 of the third period, firing from the left circle off a Kreider pass.
Carlsson’s performance once again highlighted his value to the Ducks. His ability to find open space, finish scoring chances, and read plays makes him a key part of Anaheim’s offensive strategy. With 19 points during his 10-game scoring streak, he has been one of the league’s most consistent forwards. His development, alongside the emergence of players like Sennecke and Gauthier, shows the Ducks’ bright future is already taking shape.
Head coach Greg Cronin praised the team’s balance and focus after the game. The Ducks’ offense continues to click, but their defense and goaltending have been just as important in this winning run. Their ability to maintain structure while creating scoring chances makes them difficult to play against. The players’ confidence is clearly growing with each victory, as Anaheim pushes higher up the standings.
For the Jets, the loss served as a reminder of the challenges of long road trips in the NHL. Despite Connor’s effort, the team struggled to generate consistent offense. Goaltender Eric Comrie faced 21 shots and made 17 saves but received little support from his defense. Winnipeg will need to regroup quickly to turn their trip around, as they still have three more games left away from home.
Sunday’s win was special for the Ducks, combining individual achievements and team growth. Carlsson’s scoring streak, Sennecke’s breakout performance, and Dostal’s steady goaltending all contributed to another memorable night. The Ducks’ seventh consecutive win continues their impressive rise, while the Jets look to recover their early-season form. Anaheim fans have plenty to cheer about as their team keeps proving it can compete with the best.
