Car Hits Crowd During Liverpool Parade, 27 Injured

What started as a happy celebration for Liverpool Football Club’s 20th top-league title turned into a scary and sad moment. On Monday, as thousands of fans gathered in the city centre to celebrate, a car suddenly drove into the crowd.

The car crash happened on Water Street, near the end of the team's trophy parade. Many people were injured in the accident. Reports say that at least 27 people had to be taken to the hospital. Two of them, including a child, are in very serious condition.

A video shared online shows a car speeding through the crowd. At one point, the car seems to turn slightly away from the most packed area, but it still hits many people. Right after the crash, police officers surrounded the car. Other videos show angry fans trying to reach the driver. Some people were seen lying hurt on the street.

Liverpool Football Club shared a message after the incident. They said they are working closely with the Merseyside Police to understand what happened. The club said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected by this serious incident. We will continue to support the emergency services and local authorities who are handling the situation.”

The Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, also spoke about the crash. He said on social media, “The scenes in Liverpool are appalling — my thoughts are with all those injured or affected. I want to thank the police and emergency services for their quick and ongoing help in this shocking event.”

Police said that the car did stop at the scene, and they have arrested a man in connection with the crash. The investigation is still going on to find out more about why this happened.
