Bumrah Likely to Rest for Fourth England Test: Report

India's pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah, is expected to be rested for the upcoming fourth Test in Ranchi starting on February 23, as per a Cricbuzz report. This decision is part of the Indian team's workload management. The team is set to leave Rajkot for Ranchi on Tuesday, and Bumrah is unlikely to travel with them for the fourth Test.

Bumrah's participation in the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala will depend on the outcome of the Ranchi Test, as per the report.

Bumrah is anticipated to travel to Ahmedabad on Monday via road from Rajkot, a journey taking around four hours. Having already bowled close to 81 overs in the first three Tests, Bumrah's rest aligns with the team's strategy for player welfare.

Similar to Bumrah, pacer Mohammed Siraj was previously rested for the second Test in Vizag. There is no update on whether there will be a replacement bowler for Bumrah in the Ranchi game.

Pacer Mukesh Kumar, who was released earlier for a Ranji game, is expected to rejoin the team in Ranchi.
