Bulldozer Demolition Targets Actor Nagarjuna's N-Convention Centre in Hyderabad

The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) authorities have initiated the demolition of the N-Convention Centre, an establishment owned by renowned actor Nagarjuna. This action is being taken due to allegations of illegal construction in the Full Tank Level (FTL) area and buffer zone of the Thammidikunta Lake in the Madhapur locality of Hyderabad.

The N-Convention Centre, situated on a 10-acre plot, has been under scrutiny for several years. Reports indicate that the property encroaches on approximately 1.12 acres of the FTL area and an additional 2 acres within the designated buffer zone of the Thammidikunta Lake. The FTL area of the lake, as recorded by the North Tank Division's executive engineer, spans about 29.24 acres.

The establishment has been accused of circumventing regulatory measures imposed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and other relevant authorities through alleged misuse of influence. These accusations have led to significant legal and environmental concerns, prompting the current demolition drive.

The demolition operation commenced in the early hours of Saturday morning. HYDRA officials, supported by a contingent of police personnel, arrived at the site to oversee the process and ensure that the demolition proceeded smoothly and without incident.

Authorities have stressed the importance of adhering to environmental regulations and protecting vital water bodies from unauthorized encroachments. The ongoing demolition aims to address these concerns and restore the integrity of the Thammidikunta Lake's buffer zone.
