Azizi Developments pledges AED 3B to support Fathers' Endowment campaign

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, Azizi Developments has pledged AED 3 billion to support the Fathers’ Endowment campaign. This campaign, launched by His Highness, aims to create a sustainable AED 1 billion endowment fund in honor of fathers across the UAE. The fund will be used to provide medical care for those in need, ensuring better healthcare access for underprivileged individuals.

The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 5th edition of the Arab Hope Makers initiative in Dubai. During this event, an agreement was signed by His Excellency Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary General of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), and Mirwais Azizi, the Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments.

This pledge is the first major contribution to the Fathers’ Endowment campaign, an initiative under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. The campaign encourages people to donate in the name of their fathers, spreading the values of kindness, gratitude, and social unity. It also strengthens the UAE’s role in philanthropy by establishing a long-term healthcare fund for those who cannot afford medical treatment.

Azizi Developments’ donation is the largest-ever private sector contribution to a humanitarian cause in the UAE. The money will go toward building a large medical complex, including a hospital, a research center, and a medical training facility. This complex, constructed to international standards, will improve healthcare services and offer better medical facilities to those in need.

His Excellency Al Gergawi praised Azizi Developments’ generosity, saying it reflects the strong culture of giving in the UAE. He emphasized that such donations help strengthen the UAE’s position as a global humanitarian leader. He also highlighted the importance of sustainable giving, ensuring that healthcare and education initiatives continue to benefit people for years to come.

Mirwais Azizi expressed his pride in supporting the Fathers’ Endowment campaign. He shared that one of his daughters had suffered from an incurable illness, which inspired him to help others who face similar hardships. He hopes this contribution will provide relief to many families struggling with medical expenses.

“This donation is a tribute to fathers and a way for us to give back to the community,” Azizi said. “We believe in supporting charitable efforts, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. We must help those in need and follow the UAE’s vision of kindness and generosity.”

This is not the first time Azizi Developments has contributed to a major charitable initiative. In March 2024, the company donated AED 600 million to establish an educational endowment complex in Dubai as part of the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. That initiative, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid last Ramadan, aimed to create an AED 1 billion fund to support global education. The revenue from the educational complex will help students gain knowledge, build skills, and prepare for future careers.

With this latest contribution, Azizi Developments continues to play a significant role in supporting humanitarian projects in the UAE. Their efforts align with the country’s commitment to making a lasting impact on healthcare and education, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
