On April 27, a Saturday bank holiday will be observed in accordance with the standard banking schedule, where banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, along with all Sundays. However, essential services like ATMs and internet banking will remain operational during these days.
As part of the yearly accounts closure and various festive occasions, banks across India will observe additional holidays in April. These include celebrations like Gudhi Padwa, Ugadi Festival, Telugu New Year's Day, Sajibu Nongmapanba, Navratra, Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday, Jumat-ul-Vida, Shree Ram Navami, Garia Puja, Ramzan-Id, Bohag Bihu, Cheiraoba, Baisakhi, and Biju Festival, among others.

Additionally, certain cities will experience bank closures due to the ongoing General Elections 2024, particularly during the second phase of voting. Locations such as Bangalore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Jammu will have banks closed on specific election days. This aligns with the Reserve Bank of India's holiday schedule, which adapts to accommodate each state's and city's election process.
During this phase of the general elections, 89 constituencies across 13 states and Union Territories will cast their votes. States like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir, along with Karnataka, will be among those participating.
As the electoral process progresses, the banking sector, like other essential services, will adjust its operations to adhere to the designated holidays while ensuring continuity in essential banking functions.
