In Jammu and Kashmir, an anti-infiltration operation codenamed 'Bajrang' commenced on June 22, prompted by specific intelligence inputs. On Sunday, the Indian Army confirmed the killing of one terrorist in the Uri Sector along the Line of Control (LoC) as part of this ongoing operation.
The identity of the infiltrator has not been disclosed yet. The operation remains active, with updates expected as the situation unfolds.
The announcement was made by the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army on a social media platform, stating, "One terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-infiltration Operation that was launched on 22 Jun in the Uri Sector; Operations are continuing."
The Uri Sector has been a frequent site of skirmishes and infiltration attempts, underscoring its strategic importance for Indian security operations.

According to officials cited by PTI, security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt on Saturday in the Gohallan area of Uri after noticing suspicious movement. Upon being challenged, militants opened fire, prompting a retaliatory response from the Army.
Earlier in the week, two Pakistani terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed in a separate encounter in Baramulla district's Hadipura village. This encounter also resulted in injuries to two security personnel. The operation was launched following specific intelligence received through the Jammu and Kashmir Police about the presence of terrorists in the area.
"The killed terrorists have been identified as Usman and Umar, both of Pakistani origin and associated with LeT," said Brigadier Deepak Mohan, Commander of 7 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, during a press briefing in Rafiabad.
The successful elimination of these terrorists is seen as a significant achievement for the security forces in their ongoing efforts to combat militancy in the region.
