Air India is once again making waves online, but this time not for its usual in-flight service complaints. The airline’s Delhi–Dubai flight logbook has gone viral after an unusual entry mentioning that a “live cockroach was discovered mid-air and hanged until death”. The bizarre note, written by the cabin crew, has taken the internet by storm, sparking laughter, curiosity, and a flood of memes.
The viral logbook entry was first shared by aviation journalist Jagriti Chandra on X (formerly Twitter). The record mentioned that a passenger seated in 17G spotted the cockroach during the flight. The maintenance note humorously added that the issue was “dealt with conclusively — Khalaas, Dubai style,” suggesting the insect was executed on the spot.
As the image of the Air India logbook spread online, netizens couldn’t stop joking about it. One user commented, “I want to know if the body was surrendered to the family or not,” while another quipped, “Was it handed over to catering as the family was not traceable?” Several others joined the fun, debating whether the cockroach should have been “deboarded mid-flight” or given a “proper trial.”
While the Air India viral logbook may have been intended for internal records, it has now turned into an internet sensation, highlighting how humor often finds its way into the most unexpected corners of aviation. Many social media users praised the witty note, calling it “the most entertaining log entry ever written.”
The incident serves as a lighthearted reminder of how Air India — despite often facing criticism — continues to capture public attention in the quirkiest ways.
