Abu Dhabi – ADQ, the strategic investment company of Abu Dhabi, continues to drive economic growth and diversification as it chairs its third board meeting of 2025 under His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The meeting highlighted ADQ’s strong financial performance, strategic investments, and ongoing initiatives to support national priorities.

The board reviewed Q2 2025 results, confirming continued growth across its diversified portfolio. A major highlight was ADQ’s acquisition of a 35 per cent stake in Limagrain Vegetable Seeds, a move that strengthens the UAE’s position in global food security and supports research on desert-adapted seeds through its partnership with Silal.

In transport and logistics, Abu Dhabi Airports recorded over 15.8 million passengers in H1 2025, up 13.1 per cent from 2024, marking four years of double-digit growth. AD Ports Group also showed strong performance, with container throughput rising 17 per cent year-on-year in Q2 and revenue reaching AED9.4 billion. The CMA Terminal at Khalifa Port achieved 80 per cent utilisation, reflecting robust demand and expanding global partnerships.

ADQ’s energy and utilities arm, TAQA, completed a US$1.2 billion acquisition of Spain’s GS Inima, adding significant desalination and water management capacity. TAQA reported H1 revenue of AED28.4 billion and EBITDA of AED10.2 billion, demonstrating operational resilience and growth stability.

Healthcare investments through PureHealth also advanced, with outpatient visits up 13 per cent to 4.4 million and revenue reaching AED13.6 billion. The network’s EBITDA grew 8 per cent, highlighting its capacity to meet increasing healthcare demand while maintaining profitability.

In real estate, Modon launched Wadeem, Abu Dhabi’s first residential community on Hudayriyat Island, offering 1,700 plots, and sold out Muheira on Reem Island immediately on launch. Revenue surged to AED6.5 billion, with EBITDA nearly quadrupling compared to last year. ADQ’s infrastructure platform, Gridora, signed its first strategic agreement with the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre.

Talent development and technology adoption remain core to ADQ’s strategy. The Sprint AI programme has launched over 15 data and AI initiatives across its portfolio, embedding advanced analytics to drive sustainable growth.

The board meeting reinforced ADQ’s commitment to strategic investments that align with national priorities, particularly in food security, infrastructure, and sustainable economic growth. By combining operational excellence with innovative technologies, ADQ continues to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s global competitiveness and economic resilience.
