Dubai Police have issued a public warning after detecting scam attempts linked to recent developments in the region. Authorities said fraudsters are impersonating employees of a so-called “Dubai Crisis Management” department and falsely claiming to be associated with Dubai Police.
According to officials, the scammers are contacting residents by phone and attempting to collect sensitive personal information. They are specifically asking for UAE Pass login details and Emirates ID information.
Dubai Police cautioned that sharing such confidential data can allow criminals to carry out SIM swap fraud. Through this method, fraudsters can take control of a victim’s mobile number and gain unauthorised access to banking applications and personal accounts.
The authority clearly stated that Dubai Police never request confidential information, passwords, or verification codes through phone calls or text messages under any circumstances.
Residents are strongly advised not to share personal or banking details with unknown or unverified callers. Anyone who receives suspicious calls or messages should immediately report the matter by calling 901 or by filing a complaint through the official eCrime cybercrime reporting platform.
Dubai Police urged the public to remain alert and help prevent cyber fraud by reporting any suspicious activity without delay.
