Abu Dhabi Maritime, a subsidiary of AD Ports Group, has officially opened submissions for the 2nd Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards (Marinas Edition). The awards aim to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions and achievements of marina facilities across the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye (MENAT) region.
The Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards were established to honor marina facilities that demonstrate exceptional standards in various aspects of maritime operations. This year, the awards feature new categories to highlight the diverse aspects of marina excellence. The six categories for the 2024 awards are: Sustainability, Employer Excellence, Health & Safety, Customer Experience, Innovation, and Outstanding Marina.
Submissions for the awards are open until 31 August 2024. The finalists will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, scheduled to take place on 23 November 2024, during the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS). This event will provide a platform for maritime professionals to celebrate the achievements of their peers and the advancements within the industry.

Captain Saif Al Mheiri, CEO of Abu Dhabi Maritime and Acting Chief Sustainability Officer at AD Ports Group, commented on the awards, stating, "The success of last year’s inaugural Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards underscored the incredible achievements of marinas across the region. For the 2024 edition, we are excited to see even more entries highlighting best practices and elevating industry standards. These awards highlight our ongoing commitment to fostering excellence and recognizing the outstanding contributions of our maritime community."
The awards are open to all licensed marina owners or operators within the MENAT region, regardless of the size of their operations. Marinas that are industry innovators and have implemented positive changes within their respective categories are highly encouraged to participate. Applicants can choose to submit entries in one or multiple categories. Those opting to enter the Outstanding Marina category will be automatically considered for all other categories as well.
Each submission will be thoroughly evaluated by a panel of distinguished industry experts and regulatory bodies, ensuring an independent and fair assessment process. This meticulous evaluation will guarantee that the winners truly represent the best in the maritime industry.
The Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards serve as a significant initiative to showcase the remarkable progress and innovations within the maritime sector. By recognizing and rewarding excellence, the awards aim to inspire further advancements and set higher standards in marina operations across the MENAT region.
