HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has reaffirmed DEWA’s commitment to advancing the Dubai Digital Strategy and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global leader in digital innovation. Al Tayer highlighted how DEWA is leveraging the Fourth Industrial Revolution's disruptive technologies to drive digital transformation, improve transaction efficiency, and enhance stakeholder satisfaction.
In the first half of 2024, DEWA’s customers carried out over 6.7 million digital transactions, a significant increase from approximately 6 million transactions in the same period of 2023—representing an 11% growth. These transactions included more than 1.1 million via DEWA’s website, over 2.2 million through the DEWA smart app, and upwards of 3.3 million via various digital channels provided in partnership with DEWA's collaborators.
DEWA’s robust digital infrastructure has played a key role in increasing the adoption of smart services to 99.2%. The authority has also achieved the digital integration of over 90 projects with 65 government and private organizations by the end of 2023.

Al Tayer emphasized that DEWA is driven by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish Dubai as a major player in the global digital landscape. He also noted the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, to transform Dubai Government into a fully smart model.
In line with these directives, DEWA has embraced the Services 360 Policy and the UAE Digital Government Strategy 2025, ensuring that its services are seamless, proactive, and integrated to surpass customer expectations. DEWA is committed to enhancing the customer experience through innovation, proactive strategies, and a forward-thinking vision, while also working on integrating with various entities and organizations to streamline the customer journey.
To provide innovative, secure, and user-friendly services, DEWA offers multiple digital channels, including its website and smart app available on iOS, Android, and Huawei platforms. Additionally, DEWA’s virtual employee, Rammas, powered by ChatGPT, is available through DEWA’s website, smart app, Facebook page, Google Home, robots, WhatsApp Business, and Amazon’s Alexa, further facilitating customer interaction and service access.
