The Arab Parliament has welcomed the signing of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, describing it as a crucial step toward ending months of bloodshed and paving the way for lasting peace in the region. The truce, reached after days of intensive negotiations, has brought a sense of cautious optimism to a region weary of conflict and loss.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, said the agreement reflects a victory for reason and humanitarian values, marking a turning point in efforts to end the devastating violence that has gripped Gaza. He praised the tireless international and regional mediation, especially the roles played by Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye, whose diplomatic efforts helped bridge differences and bring the parties to the table.

Al Yamahi also highlighted the contributions of the United States, noting President Donald Trump’s involvement in facilitating dialogue and supporting regional stability. The ceasefire, he added, should now open the door to broader initiatives focused on reconstruction and relief for civilians who have suffered the brunt of the conflict.
In his statement, Al Yamahi urged all sides to adhere strictly to the terms of the agreement to prevent further escalation. He called on the international community to ensure accountability and press Israel to halt unilateral actions that violate international law, including settlement expansion, settler violence, and restrictions on Palestinian funds.
The Arab Parliament reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination, emphasizing that the ceasefire must not only stop the fighting but also ignite a process of rebuilding trust and restoring hope for a just and lasting peace.
