Actor Yami Gautam Dhar is enjoying the success of her latest film Haq, which is based on the famous Shah Bano case. The film has received much love from fans and critics. As appreciation continues to pour in, Yami has already signed four new films. She didn’t reveal details but said, “It’s the producer’s choice to announce them.”
Fans believe Yami deserves a National Award for her strong performance in Haq. When asked about it, she smiled and said she doesn’t know how to answer that question. “I have read all the lovely messages from my audience. Their love is my biggest reward,” she added.
Yami also spoke about how she doesn’t attend award shows or Bollywood parties. “Yes, networking is important in the industry. But if it doesn’t feel right to me, I can’t do it. I choose to focus on my work and wait for the right scripts,” she explained.
She shared that success doesn’t always come from following trends. “If awards make you happy, that’s fine. But if you want to walk your own path and still be successful, that’s also possible. The audience now values honesty and real talent more than before,” Yami said.
Talking about her personal life, Yami mentioned her son Vedavid, who is just one and a half years old. When asked which of her films she would show him someday, she said, “I’ll decide that when he grows up. But when I was pregnant and shooting Article 370, my mother told me something beautiful: if you work hard, your child will grow up valuing that. So in a way, he was part of that film too.”
Haq, which also stars Emraan Hashmi, was released in theatres on November 7 and continues to receive praise for its powerful story and performances.
