Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away on Monday, November 24, at the age of 89. The news came just two weeks after he returned home from the hospital, where he had been admitted due to health issues. His death has left fans, co-stars, and the entire film industry in deep sorrow.
Dharmendra, often called the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood, was loved for his action-packed roles, charm, and dedication to cinema. Over a career spanning more than six decades, he starred in numerous iconic films that continue to be remembered by generations of moviegoers.
Many Bollywood stars and close friends shared heartfelt tributes on social media. Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma wrote:
"Goodbye Dharam Paaji. Your passing is very sad, it feels like I have lost my father for the second time. The love and blessings you gave me will always remain in my heart. You could touch someone’s heart in just a moment, and no one knew this better than you. You will always stay in our hearts."
Akshay Kumar also shared a throwback picture with Dharmendra and wrote:
"Growing up, Dharmendra Ji was the hero every boy wanted to be…our industry’s original He-Man. Thank you for inspiring generations. You’ll live on through your films and the love you spread. Om Shanti."
Some of Dharmendra’s most memorable films include Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Raja Jani, Jugnu, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Dost, Sholay, Pratiggya, Charas, Dharam Veer, and many more. His performances combined charisma, energy, and versatility, making him one of Bollywood’s most beloved stars.
Fans will also get to see him one last time on screen in the war drama ‘Ikkis’, starring Agastya Nanda. His legacy will live on through his films, his contributions to Indian cinema, and the love he inspired among fans and colleagues alike.
