UAE, Ukraine Presidents Discuss Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation and Ties

Today, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, who is visiting the UAE on an official trip.

During their meeting at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed extended a warm welcome to President Zelenskyy and his team. He expressed his hope that this visit would help strengthen the relationship between the two countries in many areas. Sheikh Mohamed also wished Ukraine and its people peace, stability, and prosperity.

The two leaders discussed several areas of cooperation, including the economy, investment, development, renewable energy, and food security. They also talked about other important fields that match the goals of both countries’ growth and progress.

Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE’s commitment to forming strong international partnerships in different areas to help both countries grow together.

He also highlighted the UAE’s consistent support for peaceful solutions to conflicts. He stressed that development can only happen in a stable environment and reaffirmed the UAE’s support for efforts to bring peace to the conflict in Ukraine. The UAE is dedicated to reducing the humanitarian impact of the crisis and helping bring about a peaceful resolution.

Sheikh Mohamed thanked President Zelenskyy for Ukraine’s cooperation in supporting the UAE’s role in facilitating the exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia. This cooperation shows Ukraine’s trust in the UAE’s efforts to address the humanitarian consequences of the conflict.

In return, President Zelenskyy thanked the UAE for its ongoing diplomatic efforts, especially regarding prisoner exchanges. He also recognized the UAE’s humanitarian approach to the situation and its focus on finding peaceful solutions.

After their discussions, Sheikh Mohamed hosted a lunch in honor of President Zelenskyy and his delegation.

The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; and many other senior leaders and officials from both countries.

This visit highlighted the strong partnership between the UAE and Ukraine, and both leaders are committed to working together to address global challenges and promote peace and development.
