UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call on Monday with Mark Rutte, Secretary General of North Atlantic Treaty Organization, to discuss the rising military tensions in the region.
Both leaders reviewed the ongoing escalation and its impact on regional and global security. They also talked about how the situation is affecting international shipping routes and the global economy.
The discussion highlighted continued attacks by Iran targeting the UAE and other countries in the region. These attacks have reportedly focused on civilians, civilian infrastructure, and important facilities.
The NATO chief strongly condemned these actions, stating that such attacks violate national sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter. He also praised the UAE’s response and the steps it is taking to protect its territory and ensure the safety of its people and residents.
