The UAE is facing a very important match on Thursday against Kyrgyzstan in the AFC Asian World Cup qualifiers. This match is crucial for the UAE to keep their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup alive. They need to win to stay in the race.
Right now, the UAE is six points behind Iran and Uzbekistan, the leaders of their group. If they don’t win, their chances of qualifying will be in serious trouble. The UAE began their campaign well with a 3-1 win over Qatar, but they have struggled in their recent games. After that win, they couldn’t secure another victory and only managed a draw against North Korea. They lost 1-0 to both Iran and Uzbekistan. The UAE has been competitive, but they now need to get all three points against Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyzstan is new to this stage of the World Cup qualifiers and is still learning what it takes to succeed at this level. Though they’ve played well, they’ve had trouble finishing games. However, their 1-0 win against North Korea has given them a boost, and they will come to Abu Dhabi with confidence, hoping to add more points to their campaign.

On the other hand, Australia is preparing to face Saudi Arabia in their World Cup qualifying match in Melbourne. Australia’s coach, Tony Popovic, knows the Saudi team will be full of energy and will be desperate for a result after a tough start to their campaign. Saudi Arabia has a new coach, Hervé Renard, who replaced Roberto Mancini. Popovic expects Saudi Arabia to come out strong and fight hard for the win.
Australia, which is currently behind Japan in Group C, needs to secure second place to earn a direct spot in the 2026 World Cup. The top two teams in each group will automatically qualify, while the third and fourth teams will need to play in another round of qualifiers. After a bad start, including a 1-0 loss at home to Bahrain and a 0-0 draw in Indonesia, Australia has shown improvement under Popovic. They beat China 3-1 and managed a tough 1-1 draw against Japan.
Popovic is confident that his team will match Saudi Arabia’s energy but also remain calm and play their game when it matters. He wants his players to stay focused and use their skills to get the results they need.
Saudi Arabia has had their struggles with results and a coaching change. After losing to Japan and drawing with Bahrain, they decided to bring back Hervé Renard. Renard is familiar with the team, having led them before, and Popovic expects him to bring the same energy and determination back to the team.
Popovic has not revealed his starting lineup yet, as he has four players who have not played for the national team yet. However, he is confident that his players are prepared for the tough challenge ahead.
In another important match in Group A, Qatar is set to face Uzbekistan. Qatar is on four points, six points behind the leaders, Iran and Uzbekistan. They need to win to keep their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup alive. If they lose to Uzbekistan, their chances will be seriously hurt.
Qatar’s coach, Marquez Lopez, is expecting a strong reaction from his team after their disappointing 4-1 loss to Iran. Qatar took the lead early with a goal from Almoez Ali, but their defense let them down, and Iran came back to win the game. Lopez has brought back Mohammed Muntari to the squad after a long injury. Akram Afif and Ali will also be on the team, and Qatar will be hoping for a win to keep their qualification dreams alive.
With the halfway point of the qualifying campaign coming up, all these teams are feeling the pressure. They need to perform well in their remaining matches to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
