UAE Opens Dialysis Unit for Palestinian Patients in Egypt

A new dialysis unit has been opened at the UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Egypt, to treat the growing number of Palestinian patients suffering from kidney diseases.

The facility has been launched to support Palestinians displaced by the Gaza conflict, ensuring they receive safe and uninterrupted dialysis treatment without the need for long-distance travel. The unit is located near residential complexes in Al Arish to reduce travel difficulties and improve access to care.

The dialysis unit was inaugurated by Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to Egypt. It is equipped with two dialysis machines, capable of providing six treatment sessions per day. Each dialysis session lasts around four hours.

The UAE Floating Hospital is operated by an Emirati medical team and has a capacity of 100 beds for patients, along with an additional 100 beds dedicated to patient companions.

This initiative is part of the UAE’s broader humanitarian and medical assistance under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. The operation includes air and sea bridges to deliver medical supplies, along with the provision of medicines and essential medical equipment in coordination with official authorities and humanitarian partners.
