UAE Sends 30 Tonnes Food Aid to Drought-Hit Kenya

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sent 30 tonnes of food aid to Kenya to help families affected by severe drought and worsening climate conditions.

The humanitarian assistance was delivered through the UAE Aid Agency as Kenya continues to face prolonged dry spells and the impact of the La Niña weather pattern. Several regions across the country are struggling with food insecurity, water shortages, and serious environmental challenges due to the ongoing climate crisis.

According to officials, the food shipment aims to provide immediate relief to vulnerable communities that are facing difficulties in accessing basic necessities. The drought has affected agriculture and livestock, leaving many families without stable sources of food and income.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, said the UAE remains committed to supporting countries facing emergencies. He stressed that the UAE will continue to stand by nations affected by natural disasters or shortages of essential supplies.

He also highlighted that UAE Aid Agency teams are working closely with national donors and charitable organisations to ensure quick response and early recovery efforts in climate-related emergencies around the world.

The latest aid shipment reflects the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian commitment to assist communities in need and strengthen international cooperation during times of crisis.
