UAE, Monaco Leaders Forge Strategic Climate Collaboration

Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA), held a high-level meeting with His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco, to explore strategic partnerships in environmental conservation and climate action.

During the discussions, Sheikha Shamma outlined UICCA’s multi-faceted approach to accelerating climate solutions, highlighting its role in fostering strategic collaborations, incubating innovative climate technologies, and shaping policy transformation across the UAE and the wider region. She detailed key sustainability projects, demonstrating how UICCA’s integrated platform mobilises governments, private sectors, and civil society to deliver impactful, scalable climate initiatives.

Prince Albert II, whose Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco has been a global catalyst for environmental protection and sustainable development, noted the alignment between the two organisations’ missions. He emphasised potential collaboration areas, particularly in marine conservation, where both entities have strong expertise and established programmes.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to explore joint research projects, coordinated policy advocacy, and integrated conservation initiatives. Both leaders underscored the importance of creating structured partnership frameworks to leverage their organisations’ complementary strengths in tackling pressing global environmental challenges.
