UAE Condemns Deadly Mosque Attack in Sudan’s Darfur

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the devastating attack on a mosque in the Al-Daraja neighborhood of El Fasher city, in Sudan’s Darfur region, which claimed dozens of lives and left many others injured. The UAE described the assault as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

In its official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) stressed the urgent need for both warring Sudanese factions to fully implement the Jeddah Declaration. The Ministry highlighted that adherence to the declaration is crucial to safeguard civilians, prioritize the welfare of the Sudanese population, and mitigate the humanitarian consequences of the ongoing civil war.

The Ministry further reiterated the UAE’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict. It emphasized the immediate necessity of a ceasefire and the protection of innocent civilians caught in the crossfire.

Expressing solidarity with the people of Sudan, the Ministry confirmed that the UAE remains dedicated to collaborating with regional and international partners to restore stability and promote lasting peace. The statement also condemned all forms of extremism and terrorism that escalate violence and prolong the crisis.

The Ministry extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for those injured in the attack, reaffirming the UAE’s ongoing support for humanitarian efforts in Sudan.
